Practice Teaching

My first day teaching is on January, 21st 2019. I teach English subject in Malacampa Elementary School-Main Grade 6th SSES at 1PM (GMT +8). I came early to let my cooperating teacher to correcting my lesson plan first.

In the first day in practical teaching was quite amazing but unfortunately the electricity was interrupted, the students already understand about the lesson today they just copy for assignment.

I really love to teach in here, I'm so lucky because the subject is my favorite, so I gained my confidence already, the students are smart, they are competitive but still helping to each other. They're not shy for asking questions when they're not understand but mostly for they ask while do the assignment.

I usually use different learning methods everyday, because I don't want my students bored with the same methods over and over again. Every good teachers are have innovative learning that must be applied on every teach.

I have 20 hours for teach and as helper in this class, and that is enough because the school starts on 7AM until 4PM from Monday to Friday.

Madam Beda given me feedback, she told me that my practice teaching impressed her, so she said that I need to keep it up, she said that don't be nervous even I'm not, I'm just shy at the first. She really support me and never mad at me.

I teach for 2 weeks which is I should make 10 lesson plans include the quiz. The curriculum is using K12 and Madam Beda have sent it to me.

After I read all of the daily lesson log, my favorite lesson plans are Problem and Solution, Cause and Effect and Point of View also quiz time even I love all the lessons because I still can handle it and made different methods.

From my observation after 5 days, some of the students can't read english properly. Luckily everytime I teach I always let my students read, it can one by one or all of the students, but there are some different dialects that can't be changed like education become edukasyon; television become televisyon that more like Spanish.

I gave them some basic and sometimes advanced question to let them use HOTS and the result is I'm so happy because 80-88% of them got 4-5 from 5.

I also made concrete instructional medias hope that they can really understand and can remember the lessons in their long term memory so they will remember it and can help them in society.
